Friends of ours had a baby in late December 1999, the part of the country they live in is famous for witty nicknames so they tried to play it safe by calling the baby Enda.
The first visitor that called to the hospital  said to baby "Hello, end da millennium"

If I was guessing (which I do a lot with various degrees of success ) I would suspect that there is a bloody great stake driven in at the tow-bar end possibly with a tow ball on top to hitch to. It would make a hell of a hover mower
