General / Skirt Adhesive
« Last post by Mike Bingham on Apr 03, 2024, 5:21 pm »
I'm sure its mentioned on here somewhere, but would someone be good enough to tell me the  name of the correct adhesive for my Sevtec skirt material And best place to buy ?  Final last weekend my son in law and I managed to move the two block and tackle to a position suitable to lift the hovercraft off the trailer. I can see a couple of small holes by the lift fan and seams that are beginning to part on the edges
Thanks in advance

My understanding is the undulations (for noise attenuations) are on trailing edges (owls wings) etc but on leading edges as per whales for allowing high angles of attack which are then less likely to stall.
The FACT these are found in nature developed over millions of years is most humbling IMHO.
Flowers giving off UV reliant colours for various birds and insects to exclusively see is another wonder.

Just watched this, was I seeing things or were the undulations on the leading edge of some of the wings and blades? I had it in my head this was a trailing edge thing.

Interesting developments. Keith Oakleys rudders on his quiet hovercraft displayed similar irregular
surfaces.

A lot of solvent expanded elastomers in carbs will return to their original size within 24hrs if left in the atmosphere, this was common in the small engine workshop I used to work in. We would leave the seals somewhere warm and ventilated, they would return to the original size overnight and fit back where they came from.
