I use PU20 to only seal the lower  INNER fixing points because doing THAT seals off the bolt holes from allowing water to enter craft whilst in floatation mode. (Also known as sunbathing, /fishing/ sleeping mode.)
I have used this method on my two OTTER skirts, and have managed to drastically reduce water ingress (Also know as "damp foot" or "sloppy trainer".)
Upper outer fixings I simply used a little light evostick to help seal/hold in addition to the clamping action of the screws which I beef up to 20 mms St Steel with added glass on the extra screw length inside the craft. In 9 years of usage- ive not had ONE upper/outer screw fix come loose.

Ok, thanks John. We seem to be getting an extraordinary amount of water inside the skirt, much more, and further forward, than would get in through the lift fan opening. I am concerned that my sometimes uneven weld  along the doubled over strips (where the skirt is attached) has left places for the water to get in. the seal was as much to stop that as air getting out. I think perhaps that my curved body sides design is partly to blame. Any water that lands on them falls directly on top of the Ali/skirt top fixing and maybe seeping inside.

John;
Would you use that instead of this
Yep - its a third of the price and appears to have the same spec so it's a no-brainer.
You don't need to seal the skirt to that extent - its' got plenty big holes already (drain, front corners, etc.).  Gluing it to the hull is just to hold it in place until you get the strip screws in.

Barry recommend contact adhesive, ...

I've glued the skirt to the craft and clamped it with screwed on Ali strip. The PU was to run around the top to seal any air leaks.

Barry recommend contact adhesive, it was slightly different to the skirt glue, one of the evostik's that you was used for carpet, I think it was higher in solids. I used skirt glue on this latest skirt as I didn't have standard contact adhesive....

I discovered today that Toolstation have stopped selling Puraflex 40   :o   . Now I have to find an alternative, what suggestions does anyone have?
I opted for a tube of  Sika Sikaflex EBT Hybrid sealant & adhesive from Screwfix because I needed something same day to avoid another 20 mile trip. I am pretty sure it will do the job (glue plastic to fiberglass and seal around the top of the skirt) AH!, now that I have written that - IS PU actually the right stuff to seal around the skirt where it fixes against the hull?
