If it’s any consolation, the weather the past two days has not been hover friendly. Still pretty breezy white caps on the waves. This morning we even had a hail shower. Brighter this afternoon but the wind still hanging on

Such a shame that the weather turned nasty for this event, after the 4 or 5 weeks the weather had been really good for this time of year.  Becky & I are heading down on Tuesday for a few days, but I don't hold much hope that the weather will improve.  At least it's a few days holiday  ;)

Thanks very much Kim for all that. Back from LF now as weather simply beat us (mainly wind) being a no go due to safety issues,
"danger of death" type of ops. JR has kindly sent some files to incorporate into an eventual video, once all the jobs allow.

Nick sent this to me and asked for it to be posted here as comms are difficult where he is.

Just wanted to send our best wishes to those going to this year's Loch Fyne Hover-in 8)  We were hoping to come for some of it, even just to say hello, but I'm afraid I am still not strong enough to make it, following spinal surgery a couple of months ago.
Hope the weather is kind to you, that the midges don't notice you are there and that you have a fun, safe and "uneventful" couple of weeks. Don't forget to post a few photos/videos please.
Best wishes, Kim and Val.

The 19th year of the famous Scottish Hoverin at the premier hovercrafting location in the UK (Loch Fyne).

All are welcome for any part or all of the event dates.

Event is mainly based at the Argyll Caravan Park near Inveraray which takes touring campers and caravans (no tents) and has static caravans for hire).  Plenty alternative accommodation is available in the local area (probably wise to book something if you are attending on the Bank Holiday weekend as it can be busy).  Launching/parking is available at the caravan park.  If you have any problems finding anything please contact me and I'll try to help.

For newbies, we normally use VHF channel 72 for inter-craft comms and WhatsApp for daily organisation stuff.  if you PM me with your mobile # I'll add you to our Loch Fyne WhatsApp group.  It would also be useful if you can indicate in the event comment what dates you plan to attend - no commitment required!

There is some useful info HERE on the area with some basic safety info (a bit dated but hopefully useful for "newbies" to this event).
