File Name: Lockdown Cruising!
File Submitted: April 26, 2020, 9:50:33 PM

No hovering at the mo for obvious reasons. Whilst obviously hovering would not have any risk of passing on Corona, I decided to lay up Sabrina in solidarity with everyone else.

However - we are allowed "one form of exercise per day" so this was ours today!

We waited for the tide to come in (a mini-bore) then launched the kayaks and rode the incoming tide about 2/3 of the way to Gloucester.  I'd heard that in the old days, people in Minsterworth used to launch their boats and ride the bore to Gloucester,  do their shopping then ride  the ebb tide back, and I wanted to try it. It works! We chose to stop, but could easily have been in Gloucester in another 20 mins with very light effort, and the paddle back was also easy once the tide turned.

Once the lock down is over, we'll do the whole run, stop for a coffee and then run back home!
