I have coated the antenna socket and any other ports with Vaseline on my Icom - which looks fairly similar.  Likewise the heatsink.  We had a similar looking unit on our RIB when we bought it and the metal on the back was badly corroded although the front was OK.  It still worked but was on its last legs.

If you pull the knobs off (pardon the pun!) and pack it with silicon grease around the shaft seals before replacing the knobs, should help it last longer.

New VHF radio arrived today for my current hoverbuild.

Only time will tell if it is any good or not.
