It definitely was Hoveraid that acquired it. They sent out an email message to supporters asking for funds to be donated for them to be able to bid on the craft.
After their successful win Andy Mayo of Hoveraid issued the message "We are extremely grateful to everyone who donated or pledged support over the last 24 hours - we managed to secure the Griffon 375 for £10,100 and your pledges and donations totalled £10,233."
Good news, I think, that it will be put to very good work.  ;D

Good oh; if so it's going to do rather more worthy work than it would have in my hands. :)

£10.1k; anyone here owning up? If you want to hover commercially it's still a bargain even if it went beyond my budget.
By the looks of it (from Wouter's post) on Facebook it was Hoveraid that had the winning bid.
Russ..

Well that's trotted beyond my 'fun stuff' budget; good luck to whoever's taking a punt on it.

Still well worth looking at.
If it cost 10 Grand and you spent 10 Grand on fixing it up,
it would still be a viable commercial proposition.

This craft was 75 grand new. So perhaps another perspective.
Buy a 20year old Porsche. Looks good but its only 3 grand. It drives and the wings are a bit rusty. Spend a hundred quid and patch them up..... Nice.
On closer inspection it blows out lots of blue smoke, has a noisy tappet, dosn,t go into top gear very well, window leaks, speedo dosn,t work, fuel gauge is faulty, exhaust blows, needs a new front tire, stone chip on the wind screen.
Get my drift.
