Certainly was Mini based, with a choice to use the then new Metro as a donor. a few where even Maxi based. in reality you could use almost any donor for Hustlers. the Highlander was Jag based, Apparently there was even a Range Rover version!!

I can remember when they first arrived on the kit car scene back in the eighties.  If I remember right they were Austin metro based, "showing my age now"!

Actually, while on the subject of cars why do we call the storage space in the rear of a car the boot, and the Americans call it the trunk?  The American version is pretty obvious as the storage box at the rear of the car has a lid like a trunk, but where does boot come from?

I have just put my Hustler Kit Car up on eBay. With your hovercraft behind it, it would make for the most unusual towcar/trailer combo ever!! the catch is you have to build the thing first. grab a bit of history here
