General / Otter at Castle Lachlan
« Last post by Al on Apr 13, 2024, 11:18 am »
I thought I would have a wee play this morning and have a go at creating a random picture on canvas with my laser.

I looked through the media pictures on this site and chose one of the otter sat on the beach at Castle Lachlan.  The images on this site are only 800 X 600 pixels so I wasn't sure how well it would come out.  On top of that this is my first attempt at creating a canvas etching, so I just took an educated guess at speed & power settings.  The canvas is 200mm x 200mm

I've also uploaded the picture I created the canvas etching from, which I think maybe JR's otter.  Anyway whoever's otter it is they are welcome to the canvas etching if they want it

Sad news. He ‘adopted’ one of my sons on several trips in the SW in my early days of hovering. He was a good bloke.

Sad to hear that Henry Evans has died. I spent many good times with him over the years.
He came to various events in the South East plus he took part in coastal races. Henry also went to various inland race meetings including the World Championships in Berlin 20 years ago.

You've been there many times!  We visited the ruins of Glenan village up the hill from there.

Access rights are protected and I can't see any way people will allow that to be changed.  There aren't any "private" areas on Loch Fyne that I'm aware of )other than the normal property curtilage restrictions.  There are supposedly some small areas of privately owned foreshore (I've never been able to verify any) but that doesn't affect your right to access them in any way.

I must have cruised past that many times, but never visited.
On a general note, "the right to roam" comes up regarding Scotlands unfettered access, and the "sudden change" that occurred around Loch Lomond which appeared to be simply a random decision by council to cease. Then access was eventually reinstated (at a cost). Perhaps inaccurate reporting, but ive noticed some areas even on Loch Fyne are now "off limits" AKA "private"?
Is there any truth in these rumours and or should "we" be concerned that Scotlands fabulous attitude to the environment is gradually eroding?

Looks like fun and with it just for the engine/transmission/prop/trailer!
Its isn't clear whether the video is what you buy- (or the words) which infer the engine doesn't work.
Maybe its me?
