Paul came over with his FF for a run down the river. We went as far as Hock Cliff, within sight of Sharpness, but given the 9.7m tide this morning the next section round the Noose and down to Wellhouse Rocks is always ferocious. So after a cup of tea we headed back up river, past my place to Lower Parting just downstream of Gloucester.

Fun fact - in the old days the trip from Gloucester to Sharpness took 3-4 tides (2 days!) in a Severn Trow, we did it in 2 hours. The trip back used to be done in a single tide, riding the bore wave all the way!
