Is that upstream from the forge? Ive seen much low water exposures but the river looks to be narrower (as in upstream)?

PS "bench" on the Severn means a large flat rock that's usually just under the water. Theres lots of them, ideal for mashing boat props. Don't ask how I know that.

The river is very low - this rock bench has only come out once in the 10 years ivd lived here, and then only at the height of summer
