Nick, the shape of the hoops does go wide of the body a little, this was mainly decided by the stowage dimensions for the frames when horizontal. You could make the hood more streamlined and sexy, Id rather have the space but make changes once I see how it performs etc.
The weight is minimal, I'll post those once it's finished access should be ok also.
You could have frame extensions to make the spacing of the fabric support smaller, I'll see how that goes also.
The rear frame needs a ball joint to account for the otters side plane angles, the front frame is in a non ball jointed socket the same as JR's explorer, this makes stowage neater.
The final colour will be white with decals, that's for much later on.
There's no such thing as bad weather, you're just wearing the wrong jacket!!

STEVE_ Your cover will allow for more/better movement inside during camping. My cover clearly follows the hull more closely BUT indeed results in bugger all room inside when in covered mode. As mentioned before, I am also going to construct a new stronger support frame BUT im not prepared to scrap my cover- the tube will fit inside current shape.
YOURs will be much more roomy and as such will be used to camp, (rather than mine which up to press) has not yet been slept in.
I shall be closely inspecting your flexible supports to help me with this Autumn/Winter refit.
I shall be revisiting my cover with desires to improve the adaptability of my sun roof, partial roll backs, sides up, lid still on concepts.
Its great to know you are looking after the STILL YELLOW  :-\ beast and able to smooth over any areas we've fallen short in the past,
or should that be PASSED!!!!!
Im guessing around 7 years?
