I have just joined this group and I am enjoying the read. My name is Alan Wright and I was one of the two designers of the Hover-Air HoverHawk and the craft that came after it. I was with Michael Hart who unfortunately passed away just over a year ago. I had helped with some aerodynamic issues and Mick and I saw the opportunity to design a new craft that was based on a fibreglass shell rather that the plywood that had been used before. I was hired in 1966 by Lady Brassey at the Crowland facility. We designed the HoverHawk and then had the hard job of getting it past Lady Brassey and her son Charles Westmoreland. I enjoyed my time there and was very sorry when Lady Brassey was forced to close the company down.
I emigrated to Canada as an Engineer. I now live in Ontario and I am planning to go to see the craft that is in the Winnipeg RCMP museum later this year. My daughter was there last year.
