At least the trailer fails are easily sorted :-)  There are so many silly little things in the IVA test that are difficult to spot in the online IVA guide.   Shame about the galvanizing as not much extra expense compared to painting, but as you say, you wont be building another one :-)

Basic boat used to do a policy      re written for hovercraft. They're in Sidcup Kent.
There's no such thing as bad weather, you're just wearing the wrong jacket!!

Slight hicup on the IVA test, it er, um, failed! I didnt spot the reflectors bit so didn't fit any, fail. The rear lights were below 350mm, fail. The inner of the two brake lights were more than 400mm from the outer edge, fail. As the trailer is over 2.1m wide it has to have rear outer corner marker lights, it didnt, fail.
All easily fixable and mostly done. As there was nothing structural were going to paint it before retesting (I was overruled on galvanising it, not happy about it but as I wont be building any replacement...)

Insurance:
kind of figured craft insurance may be fraught with difficulty,  the squadron asked so I have to try. Who's doing liability insurance?

Gaz, sorry slightly off subject, but did you get the trailer IVA tested OK?

I'm also interested in hover insurance company.  I think you will struggle getting insurance on a home built craft, as they have nothing to compare value with.  Liability insurance shouldn't be a problem though

With the 1387 Squadron craft nearing completion our thoughts are tuning to insurance. Who's the goto people for craft Insurance and Public Liability Insurance nowadays? also what should we be expecting to pay?
