And ... whilst on batteries, I've had great success in using a pulse "repair" type charger for a few years, It has successfully "repaired" 5 batteries that would charge OK but no longer had enough CCA capacity (they are all still in service). The charger I got was a cheapo
6Amp one

A flooded battery should be 12.7 max. If it's an AGM type then it could be 13.5V. Better to use a proper battery tester rather than a multimeter as it will measure the capacity (current) as well as the charge state and general condition (internal resistance, etc.) all of which give a much better idea of the battery state. You can get testers for around £20 or so for simple versions.

I always thought that a lead acid battery cell equalled 2.2 volts, so 13.2 would show it as fully charged, but electrics is far from my strong point.

Included will hopefully show my M/Home habitation battery being tested for standing -resting Voltage. It was my understanding that this is simply not possible after approx one week uncharged or connected to my solar panel which only charges the engine battery.
I "presume" (always a suspect approach) that the tester is over reading? I have two cheapo ebay testers and they differ slightly but neither makes real sense to me.
Questions-
1 Am I missing something?- easily possible!
2 Do cheapo testers vary and or is there a recommended more accurate make of tester when I need more accurate results?
