Having been out of action today due to a slight ankle problem (cant walk type!) ive watched the above 2 and 1/2 hour video. NOT for the faint hearted I can tell you.
From the sweet aspects of early scouts and with a gradual build up in complexity and SIZE it has re-iterated (for me) that there is a sweet spot for hovercraft size and this is IMHO 16-20 foot length. Below this length, its too exposed and marginal in freeboard and protection, and above this length, trailering and every OTHER aspect of ownership, costs, and operations becomes vastly onerous.
The last (biggest) one used for gold dredging amply shows what happens when a super concept goes out on the proverbial limb and loses its honest simplicity. A magical moment as the largest craft side slips for a few hundred yards, and nearly takes out the camera man!
About 5 mins from the end.
As for finding gold- ive used more in a premolar gold inlay.
Thanks for the entertainment on a well boring invalid day.
One question----
WHY did they not use second hand car windscreens?
Also our glued screens are such a lighter cheaper way of installing.
Did this energise me to make another?
No--- as I am well happy with my Otter (thank you very much)!
