and "people" still ask us "WHY do you stand?" !!!!


Whilst coastal cruising years ago (a few miles off in a boat)
it is amazing how the shore becomes two dimensional and all you can ascertain is a grey smudge across the horizon
when somewhere in there is your required inlet.
Then along came chart plotters.  ::)

Almost broke the #1 hovercraft rule which is to never go into anywhere that's narrower than the LENGTH of your craft (no reverse so you must be able to turn!).

I too was relying upon the chart plotter for reassurance, but there was a guy infront of me (you) so I was simply watching if you foundered or carried on undamaged!
If you can get through, then so can I.
More dampness on a toilet wipe.  ::)

Between the islands of Torsa (left) and Luing (right).  Without the chart plotter I doubt I could have found it hidden between high cliffs around a corner! The tide was on the turn- when low there can't be any/much water as it was only about a foot deep in places.
