Another river trip today - temperature was around 8C which seemed quite comfortable

Only issue was the late start (about 1:15pm) which meant that I misjudged the early sunset (around 3:15pm on the river

- around 3:30 in the clip). It was OK on the water until about 3:45 or so but then the sky got cloudy and it got pretty dark, making the last half hour a bit of an eye-strain (white swans are visible but the banks are just a black mass)! Luckily there is no other traffic on the water so all was well! The rail bridge at Berwick had it's Xmas lights on (green and red on alternate arches!!
I needed a couple of tries to find and get up the launch ramp which just confirmed the utter uselessness of a spot/head lights on water (you could see absolutely nothing until the steep bank suddenly jumps out in front of you as the lights illuminate it - about 2 seconds before you hit it

).
