Porthmadog got off to a good start 2017, last 6 weeks virtually none stop rain!!! (So a local told me) Got back from a long weekend (cut short) about an hour ago. Photo of "good weather" in  Abersoch !! Taken about 16.46hrs.

You're all wrong, they're created by the larvea of the Caledonian Rock Beetle. This throwback to the early Credulacene period of prehistory was thought to be extinct until 2003 when similar rocks were discovered in Loch Fyne.
