It was Blackbushe and the grass was really thick stubble the craft seemed really high tech at the time - extraordinary. Although 50 years from now someone else will be saying the same of today!

I remember an event like that where the craft wouldn't go on the stubbly grass and could not stop on the runway tarmac but where was it? The starter with the flag looks very Christopher Cockerell but is it him? Wonderfully non health and safety everywhere you look. Love the airplanes and hovercraft moving on the same runway. Great.

Kip, you got me thinking (dillicult) about my first intro to HC. It was when I was still at school about 1967/68! Some guy had advertised a meeting and brought one along to the Kingsway Hotel in Manchester, I think he was trying to drum up some sponsorship! The HC, from memory, was similar to a Hoverhawk, would this be right for the year? (One lift and two thust "stuck" on the side)

They're pretty much the standard for onsite AV works. I have two of them.
I remember dropping one from a scaffold on the top balcony in a theatre whilst soldering speaker connections.
Luckily the flame went out before it hit the seats in the stalls below.
