The way the network prioritizes emergency calls is rather interesting, don't think that if the phone says no signal it will not connect, when U call 999 or 112 it will cause the network to dump other local traffic and give the emergency call the band width!

The 112 part is correct, but not the battery bit!

All mobiles have the facility that when your battery is flat, if you enter *3370#  the phone will restart and show a battery increase of 50%
This "reserve" will be charged up on the next phone recharge.

Alao, the international emergency code for all mobiles is 112 and your phone will search all available networks
to establish the emergency number for you.
You can dial this number even if the keypad is locked and the service is free and available on all phones worldwide

Both well worth knowing if your broke down and with a flat phone battery.

Here's one for the people using fuel injected engines with an external fuel pump , the one from a De Lorean DMC12, part number 580254984 will work  :) :) . Really useful website this is :) :)
