Registration Agreement

Thanks for registering on our web site!  Please note that registration will only allow you partial access to the content contained on this site - for full access please join the HoverClub (click "Join" in the top menu after completing registration).

Registration/Membership:
You must be 13 years of age or older to use this forum.  If you are at least 13 but not yet 18 years of age, please have your parent or legal guardian review these rules and conditions, discuss any questions you might have, and give you their permission to register on this forum with both your and their full understanding of the rules. By using this forum, you are telling us that you and your parents or guardian have agreed to this agreement.  If you are a parent, or a guardian, you are responsible for exercising supervision over your children's on-line activities.  If you do not agree to these rules or conditions, DO NOT let your child use this forum. If you are the parent or guardian of a child under 13 and believe that he or she is using this forum please contact us.

During registration you can choose a username and password.  In the interests of openess we advise that you use your real name rather than a psuedoname.  You agree to never give your account password out to any other person except an administrator, for your protection and for validity reasons. You also agree to NEVER use another person's account for any reason.  We STRONGLY recommend you use a complex and unique password for your account, to prevent account theft.

You are required to provide full and accurate contact information (including address and telephone number).  Failure to provide this information is likely to cause the registration process to fail.  The HoverClub UK reserves the right to delete, at any time, any account that does not meet with this requirement.

Content:
You agree, through your use of the HoverClub web site and forum, that you will not add (including use of the Personal Message system) any material which is false, defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, adult material, or otherwise in violation of any International law.  You also agree not to post any copyrighted material unless you own the copyright or you have written consent from the owner of the copyrighted material. Spam, flooding, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations are also forbidden on this web site.

Please be aware that it is impossible for the Hoverclub UK Committee to confirm the validity of posts.  We do not actively monitor the posted messages, and as such, are not responsible for the content contained within. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any information presented. Any posted messages express the views of the author, and not necessarily the views of the Hoverclub UK or it's Committee members.  Anyone who feels that a message is objectionable is encouraged to notify any member of the HoverClub Committe immediately.  Any Committee member reserves the right to remove objectionable content, within a reasonable time frame, if they determine that removal is necessary.  This is a manual process, however, and may take some time to.

You remain solely responsible for ALL of the content you add to this web site. Furthermore, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the HoverClub, any related websites and its Committee members. The HoverClub reserve the right to reveal your identity (or any other related information you have aupplied at any time) in the event of a formal complaint or legal action arising from any situation caused by your use of this web site.

Advertising:
Personal adverts, which can only be added by club members, are only allowed in the "For Sale" forum section.  Commercial advertising, infomercials, promotional, marketing or soliciting of ANY type is not permitted in any area of this web site (excepting the Hover Info (Suppliers or Manufacturers) section) including, but not limited to, within posts, signatures, the gallery or private messages.   The HoverClub defines a commercial advert as:
When the material being inserted is intended to draw public attention to a business or to the products and services it provides AND the material author owns, is employed (directly or indirectly) by, receives reward from or has a financial interest in the same business.

Any business involved in hovercraft related activities or the supply of products or services of interest to hovercraft enthusiasts is, at the discretion of the HoverClub Committee and provided they are currently hold full club membership, entitled to a single free advert entry in the Hover Info (Suppliers or Manufacturers) section of this web site and may include a single undecorated tag line of up to 100 characters in length in their signature (which may include a web site or email link).  Adverts can consist of up to three images (maximum size 400x500 pixels each) and up to 300 words of text including web site links (please supply your advert copy using the Contact link at the top of the page).

Privacy:
Except as detailed below, to protect your privacy the Hoverclub will not pass your contact details onto any third party nor shall the club use them for non-targeted email or other marketing purposes.  If you subsequently become a club member then your contact details and approximate geographical location (shown on the member map) may be made available to fellow club members and shall appear in the Member Register (both of which can only be viewed by club members).  Details may also be passed to a competent body or individual who is directly involved with the administration of the club or who requests assistance in identifying non-compliant individuals in areas where the HoverClub has a Managed Access Scheme in place.

Note that this web site software places a cookie, a text file containing bits of information (such as your username and password), in your web browser cache. This is ONLY used to keep you logged in/out. The software does not collect or send any other form of information to your computer.

Please note that each time you add content to this web site, your IP address is recorded, in the event that you need to be banned from this forum or your ISP contacted.  This will only happen in the event of a major violation of this agreement.
