Some time back there was a mention of the cheaper Chinese diesel heaters on here, has anybody used one and was it any good?

Mine has been installed since January and has been faultless (has been run up every few weeks during summer).  I marinised the circuit board (Plastiseal 60) and fixed the usual dodgy wires soldered direct to the circuit board common in a lot of Chinese products (no strain relief guarantees they will break with vibration),  The air fan is quite noisy until it gets up to heat but I've run it overnight whilst camping in Feb (sub-zero) and it's just a gentle whooshing noise at low'ish temps.  Using one as a cabin heater when underway would be perfectly practical if you have an air cooled engine,

Only real issue is the non-marine stainless exhaust flexi - mine is still hanging together but I doubt itll see a year out!  Replacements are cheap ( all the other bits are also cheap and readily available).

Wow that group has more than 26k members!  Got a little chilly out there today, put me thinking :) . I could get heat from the BMW oil cooling circuit but that's no good when parked up.
