Can I join International rescue, land division please??😁😁😁
I "Rescued" two families this evening on Black Rock Sands, their cars had got stuck in rather soft sand!!
Drove straight up to them and towed them out, NO problem
LAND ROVERS RULE (At least on the beach)

Ive just remembered, we landed on a sand bank with a flock of approx 40 birds, about 30 feet away.
They were unmoved by Sparkle.
I got out, and they still carried on strolling around.
Jack got out quietly after one minute,—— and they flew off without delay.
Again (and again🤪) we see birds recognise PEOPLE as a THREAT, and hovercraft hold little interest for them
CONTRARY to RSPBs beliefs.
DOGS🐕 and PEOPLE 🕺🏼are seen as potential eaters/killers of birds, 🦉
Hovercraft????? I dont think so🤦🏽‍♂️

I see this frequently - if I pass a flock of birds standing up in the craft, they fly off. If I remain seated and don’t move, they continue feeding. Put another way, the escape distance for the birds I pass on the Severn is affected most strongly by the presence of a ‘human shape’ and least strongly by noise or craft type.

We need a “member of the public rescued “ icon for people’s profile! We could award one for each person rescued.

Returning to Nick's rescue, it beggars belief how often this happens. There are signs warning people, and on the same afternoon a car got stuck in the soft sand BEYOND the sign which says NO VEHICLES BEYOND THIS POINT  !!!
The RNLI have 2 life boats at Criccieth, about 2 miles from Black Rock Sands, one large Atlantic class Rib and a small inshore inflatable, primary for Porthmadog estuary.
In 2013 I was staying in a cottage overlooking the estuary and during ONE week we saw/helped three families who got cut off on another sandbank!! How do you educate people??

It seems that you need to change your name to Virgil Tracy Flint and Sparkle to Thunderbird 6.
That’s two more people that would have been in the cart.
Happy days and well done to you.....again.
It gets hovercraft a good press.

I have encountered this type of aireated sand many times in the Porthmadog estuary over the last 60+years. It seams to "appear" when the sand is first covered by the tide and when you walk on it you sink about 6" to a foot and loads of air bubbles are released. I have never heared of anyone getting stuck in it although any Estuary should be treated with caution as there are some areas of quick sand which is more like a waterlogged jelly!!
