Going to try and get on the Tamar on Sunday. My next door neighbour wants to blow a few cobwebs off his Rib and asked if I would join him. Your welcome to tag along.

Totally understand Gaz, there is much stuff to do when you are the "go to guy".
Sorry it hasn't worked this time.
Hang on in there Mr H.
Its good of you to devote much time to the cadets.
I hope they appreciate you.  8)

No worries Kim, hopefully I will have more time to organise things next year. I simply couldn't see the point of dedicating time to the cruise for just 2 of us. Next year the Air Cadet build will be complete so that should free up time and the craft will also be another participant.

Never seen the Tamar from the air (just Google maps) thanks Warby.

Our first cruise in 2017 took us to the area shown in the top left of the top picture, out of sight in more than one sense of the word  ;D

If your coming along in 2018 dont forget to register at the top of the page, thanks.

To compliment World Cruise week being held in the USA the 2018 Tamar Summer Cruise Weekette will be held from the 14th to the 18th July. If America is a little to far to trailer your craft then this is the event for you

Exploring the tidal reaches of the rivers around Plymouth and weather permitting a little bit of the beautiful west country coast line. Attend as few or as many days as you can manage. Launch will most likely be Jubilee green, Saltash, Weir Quay being the backup slip

Due to congestion at the slip last year I am limiting numbers to 6 craft this year.

Cruise Area 1) The Tamar: Exploring the River Tamar and tributaries, will include a stop off for the now compulsory pub lunch and just possibly a chance to set foot on Drakes Island.

Cruise Area 2) The Coast: Weather permitting - explore along the coast around Plymouth.  As this trip is away from the relative safety of the Tamar estuary and as I will not be so familiar with recovery points I advise that this is a trip for reliable proven craft only.

Cruise Area 3) More Rivers: If participants don't mind trailering craft to a different river around 45 miles away the Fal or Exe.  Coastal cruising will take priority,

Camping is available but I recommend you book early to secure a pitch,  please contact http://www.comptonpark.co.uk/ direct and make your own arrangements but be sure to mention bringing a Hovercraft so they can give you an appropriate pitch. Be warned that the campsite is 10 miles from the slipway but there is a good pub nearby (my local).
